About Catherine Okubo
From a young age, I’ve been driven by a deep desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. The key question for me was: How could I best channel this passion?Today, my focus is on empowering individuals and fostering their growth. With a strong foundation in the intersection of psychology and business, I excel in creating collaborative environments and enhancing workplace wellness. My background in psychology equips me with a deep understanding of human behavior, which allows me to provide a unique perspective in the business world. Through my experience with Hub101 and leading research at California Lutheran, strategic thinking, program management, and organizational development have been valuable skills. Additionally, I have contributed to workplace wellness programs for Hub101 entrepreneurs. I motivate others to be their best selves through my work and I constantly seek to improve my own skills in the field of I/O Psychology and Human Resources. Outside of the professional field, you may find me captivated in a good book. I love the thought-provoking works of Malcom Gladwell, well-loved classics, and literature on brain health. My all-time favorite book that I would recommend to anyone is Atomic Habits by James Clear, which inspired and shaped the work ethic I have today. I also enjoy volunteering and serving my local community, especially working with the younger generation.
