I co-teach a litigation skills class,\"Litigation Laboratory.\" The theory of Litigation Laboratory is that good lawyers can use law students for collaborative help with open cases, and law students can learn litigation skills from doing so. After conflict screening, a different lawyer with a different case participates in almost every class. The students do pre-class preparation, and during class they discuss, argue, debate, and work with the lawyer to evaluate and solve tough issues. After class, they write up their analyses to share with the visitor. The course demands active participation by students, teachers, and visiting lawyers alike.
