ABOUT CATHERINE A. GREAVES

To embrace edges is to release the need for purity or certainty. It is to see value in complexity, to listen across difference, to design for co-operation rather than control.\"(Abrams, Crowson & Gallardo, Permaculture 2025) I am a co-convenor and co-designer, building a body of work at the \'fertile edges\' of health creation ecosystems. My practice is rooted in the belief that we must \"learn into the future\" together—moving beyond legacy structures, boundaries, disciplines and ways of thinking toward the co-creation of resilient, equitable places for human and planetary health. My current work is within emerging public health practice, collaborating on a Health in All Policies approach. I am a learning partner and divergent thinker. My track record in project management can often be helpful \"scaffolding\" for co-design—providing the structure and discipline required for diverse groups to imagine and create change. I am currently exploring the disciplines of organisational learning, soft systems and foresight thinking, to weave into my practice, to shift mental models and foster collective enquiry. I advocate for—and thrive within—environments where neurodivergent thinkers and intergenerational perspectives can flourish. As a Quaker and co-convenor of two nominations groups, I practice the art of discernment and the quiet service of connecting people to their purpose and to creating community. Quaker communities are in a time of transition too. I am currently part of a collaboration across six Quaker Meetings, exploring how we can co-design for a future in transition. You may also find me Nordic walking on the trails of Berkshire, at #parkrun, or in my garden—where, as a novice in Permaculture, I am learning about the wisdom of natural systems and \"edges.\"I welcome connections and conversations with fellow learners, innovators, and way finders from across the globe, working toward a more healthy, regenerative future for all.
