ABOUT CATHERINE WISEMAN

I help organisations turn complex science into aligned, credible access strategies by bringing clarity, judgement and long-term thinking to high-stakes payer decisions. As a trusted access strategist and negotiator, I enable timely reimbursement, uptake and sustainable value for high-cost medicines in constrained healthcare systems, so that effective treatments can reach patients fairly and deliver real-world impact. With over 20 years’ experience spanning NHS clinical practice, medical affairs and market access across the UK and Ireland, my work has focused on rare and specialty diseases within haematology, oncology and immunology.I shape pricing, HTA and access strategy in complex, highly scrutinised healthcare systems. As Senior Market Access Manager at Sobi, I lead UK and Ireland strategy across multiple rare and specialty assets, from steering HTA submissions, pricing and reimbursement planning to securing national tenders, acting as a trusted lead negotiator with national payers. This work has given me deep, practical insight into the evolving NHS landscape, including specialised commissioning, high-cost drug reimbursement and the policy drivers that shape access decisions.I work closely with patient organisations and policy stakeholders to support equitable access in rare and specialist conditions, where trust, transparency and long-term sustainability are essential. Drawing on my combined background in Medical Affairs and Market Access, I bring extensive experience across cross-functional launch planning and lifecycle management, with a particular focus on early access, value strategy and launch excellence, where getting the fundamentals right early can make a material difference to long-term outcomes.Alongside my affiliate responsibilities, I operate at the global interface, co-leading regional and global initiatives spanning cost-effectiveness and budget-impact modelling, value narrative development, patient-preference research and launch planning. In these settings, I act as a strategic adviser and thought partner, helping shape evidence plans, and ensure alignment between global strategy and payer reality. In terms of leadership style, I’m consultative and systems-oriented, with a strong focus on seeing the bigger picture and how individual decisions connect across the access, medical and commercial ecosystem. I’m passionate about translating innovation into meaningful and equitable patient access, so that strong evidence, clear strategy and collaboration enable life-changing treatments to reach the patients who need them most.
