ABOUT CATHERINE STOTHART
I am a Leadership Coach and Team Facilitator and have coached and trained hundreds of leaders to engage and motivate their teams and to develop themselves, in top multinational companies, including Airbus, Google and Audi. My best-selling first book, How to Get On with Anyone,(2018, Pearson) is a practical guide to understanding others and communicating with confidence and charisma. It sold over copies and was translated into five languages. It\'s now out in a second edition,(2024, Pearson) and has brand new chapters on leadership and communicating inclusively and extra sections on virtual communication. My third book, Motivation: The Ultimate Guide to Leading your Team,(2023, Routledge), is ideal for anyone who wants to know how to motivate their teams, improve their wellbeing, and feel motivated themselves. I was formerly a Trustee and Events Director for the British Association of Psychological Type. I speak at international conferences (in-person and online), run workshops, blog on topics related to motivation and communication, and write journal articles. I am a Fellow of the CIPD, have a Masters’ degree in Organisational Behaviour, and qualifications in Coaching and several psychometric instruments. I established Essenwood Consulting in 2004, after working for Ford Motor Company, Mercury Communications and ICL in senior Human Resource and Learning & Development roles for sixteen years. Taking an action learning approach to team building, I like to focus on helping clients set achievable action plans in a supportive, challenging and fun environment. As a coach, I am skilled at enabling clients to turn vague intentions into specific action plans and my aim is that they leave coaching sessions with a positive outlook. I have lived in Egypt and Brazil and now live in Chester, UK.
