ABOUT CATHERINE STIHLER

Catherine Stihler (OBE, FRSE) is a distinguished international leader, open technology specialist, adept partnership builder, campaigner and affordable home ownership advocate. Over the past five years, Catherine has successfully led two prominent global not-for-profits: the Open Knowledge Foundation and Creative Commons, placing her at the epicenter of open technology. Her visionary thinking, strategic approach to partnership building, and financial acumen have propelled both organizations to noteworthy success. In the realm of public interest AI, Catherine\'s impactful contributions include serving on the Governor of Pennsylvania\'s AI taskforce, collaborating with the World Economic Forum\'s AI Alliance, and providing valuable insights to the US National AI committee, establishing her as a key figure at the intersection of AI development and governance. In January she was appointed to the Filecoin Advisory Board and joined the Global Blockchain Business Council\'s (GBBC) 2024 Ambassador cohort. In February she founded Veda Insights LLC, a strategic advisory service, supporting C-Suite executives and Boards and in April began advising Vero AI, the new innovative AI start up behind the Iris platform and Violet impact framework. With a career including two decades at the forefront of European policy creation and decision-making, she uniquely bridges regulation and innovation - helping organizations understand compliance and achieve goals. Catherine seamlessly combines an insider\'s knowledge of international institutions and business with a results-driven approach, showcasing a unique and practical perspective. In July 2024, Catherine was appointed as the new CEO of Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay where she will be focused on the cause of affordable home ownership, making a practical difference in her local community.
