ABOUT CATHERINE HENRIKSEN
I\'m a designer, builder, and problem-solver working at the intersection of architecture, furniture, and product design.Over the past 10+ years, I’ve led projects ranging from institutional and cultural architecture, to commercial workplace interiors and showroom design, to space-saving furniture systems. I founded Cary Living, a Brooklyn-based studio that designs refined wall bed systems for modern living, bridging spatial constraints with considered form, material, and function. My work is grounded in systems thinking, storytelling, and a deep respect for material clarity. Whether I’m prototyping flat-pack furniture, coordinating vendors, or crafting design intent and documentation, I thrive in translating complex constraints into elegant, human-centered solutions.Previously, I worked at Snøhetta, Joel Sanders Architect, and as a freelance furniture & product designer for studios like Brad Ascalon. I hold a Master of Architecture from UPenn with a certificate in Integrated Product Design, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Yale University.
