ABOUT CATHERINE PALLOTTA

I am “not your father’s engineer” but rather a creative problem solver who can distill highly technical details into critical-path elements, fill in gaps with wisdom from my 25+ year career, and motivate people to contribute to the big picture. Experienced in managing teams across multiple geographic locations, I rely on my proven organization and communication skills to achieve project success as measured by quality, budget and schedule.Arguably the most flattering recognition I’ve received was early in my career: a plastic figurine of the superhero “Elastigirl” from the movie The Incredibles. Today I still embody the characteristics that award symbolized as I exhibit commitment to clients and the flexibility to deliver excellence with a calm demeanor despite challenging conditions. I take initiative and create action plans for identifying and addressing process improvement needs - whether internal to my own organization or those of a client’s. Solving problems can’t be accomplished in a vacuum and I’ve collaborated with diverse groups including colleagues, upper management, government agencies, skilled laborers, manufacturers, consultants, community advocates and politicians. I am not afraid to admit when I don’t know something and I have the eagerness and aptitude to quickly learn new skills. The majority of my experience focused on water and I’ve had opportunity to work with communities of all sizes across the nation (from high-level planning efforts all the way to detailed design. and everything in between) to tackle complex issues such as protecting public health and the environment as well as wisely managing resources and infrastructure. Translating beyond the world of water is my continued goal to develop creative solutions in a career with both purpose and lasting impact.Additional skills: project management, conflict management, design, presentations, technical writing, proposals, public meeting facilitation
