About Catherine Ohara
Cate is a master relationship builder and networker. She has spent over 40 years in the financial services industry, most recently as Managing Director at State Street Bank. Cate is credited with building an industry leading Consultant Relations program. She is a thought leader and strategic relationship builder. Based in New York, she headed the Consultant Relations team for Global Services, North America and was responsible for managing relationships with global consultants from 50 leading consulting firms in the asset owner, asset manager, insurance and alternative sectors. Earlier in her career Cate served as Managing Director, Team Leader, Relationship Manager at Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank; Vice President, Relationship Manager at JP Morgan Chase; Vice President, Relationship Manager, Bankers Trust; Officer, Benefit Plan Counselor, TIAA-CREF. Today, Cate spends most of her time on philanthropic endeavors. She currently serves on the Board and as Head of the Advancement Committee at Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School (CRBHS), a coeducational Catholic school located in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Cate has also formed strategic partnerships with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund, the Cornelia Connolly Center and the New York Theater Ballet. She credits her 13 plus years on the State Street Philanthropy Committee for giving her exposure to the inner workings of several mid-sized not for profits that focus on Workforce development. Cate finds her work in student and learning empowerment very satisfying, a positive and heartening experience that she’d like to continue to pursue and expand. Also of note: Cate has been inducted into the Epiphany School Hall of Fame, received Notre Dame School’s Chez Nous Award in gratitude for her enthusiasm, joy and great generosity to Notre Dame School and was honored by New York Theater Ballet for Extraordinary Dedication and Support to NYTB.
