ABOUT CATHERINE MCWILLIAM IOD
I joined the IoD Scotland team in October 2021 after 6 ½ years working for third sector organisation DTA Scotland – the member organisation for the development trust movement in Scotland. DTAS has over 350 members from Shetland all the way down to Stranraer, all of whom are champions for grass root, community-led regeneration. During my time at DTAS I held multiple roles, working my way up to Development Officer for the South of Scotland.Growing up on a dairy farm in the south west of Scotland, I am well versed on rural Scotland and strongly believe in the power of place based, community-led activity. With extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship building across the third, private and public sector, I am passionate about promoting good governance and diverse leadership.I have led on a number of projects for IoD Scotland including a deep dive analysis of the Scottish membership and developing IoD Scotland’s Policy Forum.My key skills include: communications, stakeholder engagement, social media, public speaking, event management and communications planning.
