ABOUT CATHERINE INGRASSIA
Catherine Ingrassia has more than ten years of administrative experience at an R1 institution–as Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, as an Executive Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, and as a department chair. She has a demonstrated history of working in higher education, leading interdisciplinary initiatives, building programs and centers, and initiating curricular change. As Dean of Virginia Commonwealth University\'s College of Humanities and Sciences, Ingrassia leads the university’s largest academic unit with 16 departments and three schools, more than 400 faculty members, and 10,500 students (graduate and undergraduate). Also skilled in scholarly research and academic writing, Ingrassia is a literary historian who specializes in eighteenth-century British literature and culture. The author or editor of seven books, Ingrassia\'s most recent monograph, Domestic Captivity, was published by University of Virginia Press in 2022.
