Responsible for a Real Estate Portfolio spanning across Canada, the US, and Europe held through direct investments and various Funds with diversified risk profiles (core, value-add, and development/opportunistic).The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of investments in line with the Pension Fund’s objectives and resources. Some of the tasks required to fulfill this role include business development and market watch, identification of opportunities, financial analysis and risk assessment, presentation and recommendation of new investments to the Board, due diligence, negotiation of the various contractual agreements, creation of new joint ventures and/or management of existing partnerships as well as coordination of closings. For existing assets: strategy and business plan development for the investments and overseeing their implementation, recommendation on capital spending, leasing negotiation, budgeting, and performance of hold/sell analysis.The Portfolio Manager sits on various management, co-owners’ and advisory committees, and bears a mentorship role to other internal team members.
