ABOUT CATHERINE ANDRES
My husband, Dennis, and I have three grown children and seven grandchildren. We live and work in South Bend and have been residents of St. Joseph County for over twenty years. I am a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for St. Joseph County and Dennis runs both the Palais Royale and the Morris Performing Arts Center. I hope to continue my family’s service to this community. I have been a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for fifteen years, the last ten in St. Joseph County and the first seven as a part-time Deputy Prosecutor in Elkhart. I am currently a member of the Major Crimes Unit. I also maintained a private law practice in Elkhart for eleven years, focusing on family law and probate law. Many of my assignments during my prosecutorial years have been in high-volume courts. Prior to entering the practice of law, I was a social worker for ten years. The combination of these three professional components — prosecution, private family law practice, and social work — have given me a unique skill set.
