Current: Managing editor for Silversea. Some writing, some assigning, lots of editing. Also writing coach for a national organization and for individuals who seek to improve their work. Longtime journalist, including more than two decades at the L.A. Times, accumulating broad and deep experience in news and features, print and digital, photo and video. In spare time: president of the SATW Foundation, which sponsors the Lowell Thomas Awards, honoring the best work in travel journalism. This 501(c)(3) administers the contest, annually awarding more than in prizes.
