I teach Art History for the Italian Curriculum and Visual Arts for the IB Diploma Program, working with students across middle and high school levels. My bilingual and interdisciplinary approach is grounded in both academic rigor and real-world experience.My teaching brings Art History to life through the study of material culture, artistic techniques and historical context, and integrates studio-based practices with conceptual development in IB Visual Arts. This is informed by years of professional experience as a decorator and conservator of frescoes, tempera and oil paintings, polychrome sculptures, stony artifacts and altarpieces in major sites across Tuscany and Umbria (Italy).With a background in handmade cashmere fashion design and as a teaching assistant at a leading conservation institute in Florence, I bring both creative and scientific insight to the classroom. My humanistic and scientific education—centered on Art History, Art Criticism, Iconography and Iconology, Museography and Museology, Theory of Conservation, Latin, Literature, Philosophy, History, Chemistry and Biology—supports a critical and contextual approach while enhancing discussions around materials, conservation, and techniques.These multifaceted foundation and experience allow me to guide students in mastering content, while becoming reflective, knowledgeable, and principled learners—equipped with the creative, analytical, and intercultural skills central to the IB learner profile.
