ABOUT CATE GUNDLACH

As a global yachting and sailing professional, I bring Twenty-six years of professional, high performance sail boat racing, with 15+ years spent in rigging, sail installation, and racing of super yachts. From South Florida shores, to the Bahamian, Caribbean and Mediterranean seas, my yachting portfolio includes Super yacht regattas: Rolex, Loro Piana, Les Voiles, Bucket Regattas, Maxi, IRC, and ORC racing as well as luxury yachting experience from casual cruising to high profile charter.My sailing career began at the age of seven, at the reins of the International Optimist Dinghy (IOD). I quickly found myself advancing through the ranks with many championship podium finishes over the years, and earning a place on the U.S. National Team, training with the future of US sailings elite and olympians.I attended the University of West Florida, school of professional business, earning my B.S, in Luxury Hotel and Resort Development and Management.Upon graduation I returned to Fort Lauderdale with a degree in Luxury Hotel and Resort Management, and entered the professional world as ‘assistant marina manager’ with (then)LXR group, Pier66. While tending to the needs of yacht owners, captains, and their vessels, I realized my passion for the yachting industry would go far beyond the parameters of marina management. Honesty and integrity are the foundation of my character. I firmly believe in transparency in all my dealings with owners and crew members alike. Throughout my extensive and diverse yachting career, I\'ve developed highly competent and uniquely diverse skills and knowledge through continued education and utilization of proper bridge administration, passage planning, international logistics, delivering high quality and professional vessel (and rig) management, ISM and IMO crew safety, guest safety, first-class charter service, and the ability to generate team oriented crew.
