About Catch Hurst
Dr. Thomas Catch Hurst is an ATI Physical Therapy provider & oversees the ATI Physical Therapy clinics in Tacoma & Gig Harbor, Washington where he leads teams who treat clients across the age spectrum with orthopaedic, vestibular, & sport related injuries. He graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona & served for 3 years as the Class President. He is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy & as such is in the top 4% of his field. He also is an Institute of Clinical Excellence Certified Specialist in Dry Needling.He emphasizes the strategic application of manual therapy to accelerate the recovery of his clients & is endorsed in both Spinal Manipulation (<400 providers) & Dry Needling through Washington State. Additionally, he is a Certified Sports & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), CrossFit Level 2 Trainer (CF-L2), & is Certified in Applied Functional Science (3DMAPS & CAFS). He holds unique training in: Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction, Vestibular Rehab, Post-Concussion Rehab, Rehab of the Fitness Athlete, Rehab following arthroscopic knee surgeries, Rehab & Assessment of the Distance Runner, & training in Olympic Lifting.In both 2022 & 2023 Catch was in the top 5% for clinical outcomes across 900+ ATI clinics & roughly clinicians & was recognized with the ATI Clinical Excellence Award in both years.As a Clinical Director Catch specializes in team building & mentoring future leaders. He has a proven track record of improving operational KPI’s, decreasing attrition, & coaching others to do the same. He is certified via the APTA as a Clinical Instructor for DPT students & has worked as Adjunct Faculty for Orthopedic & Sports Residency with Arcadia University, ATI Physical Therapy, & the University of Puget Sound.Catch is married to Laurel Hurst who he met while they attended Biola University. Together they have three girls. In his limited free time, he enjoys hiking with his vizslas, reading dystopian literature, & CrossFit.Catch loves serving the city he lives in (Tacoma, WA) & serves as a volunteer Pastor of Resurrection Church (Tacoma, WA). He does all that he does to build new relationships & serve others. He has regularly traveled internationally to treat & serve under- or unserved peoples using his physiotherapy skills.Professionally, he is always looking to participate in & support academic research as well as find new venues to apply his experience.
