About Catalina Z.

I am a senior at Clemson University currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications. I have a deep interest in color analysis, technical solutions, and project management, as well as a passion for exploring the ways in which design can enhance communication and efficiency in various industries. In addition, I am an Active Member in Alpha Phi Omega, Gamma Lambda Chapter at Clemson University. Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed service fraternity that focuses on providing meaningful community service to the Clemson area.Growing up in West Virginia, I was surrounded by natural beauty, which sparked my lifelong interest in art and design. As a child, I spent hours experimenting with Adobe Photoshop for fun, creating artwork inspired by my friends and the things that interested me. My passion for design continued to grow as I got older, and when I moved to South Carolina, I was able to take classes geared toward graphic design in high school. After graduating from Clover High School in 2020, I faced uncertainty about my career path. Instead of immediately enrolling in a four-year university, I decided to take a gap year to gain real-world work experience. In January 2022, I enrolled at York Technical College to obtain credits while continuing to work. It was during this time that I discovered Clemson University’s Graphic Communications program, which immediately resonated with me and gave me a renewed sense of purpose in my educational journey.I am particularly passionate about digital printing and color analysis, as I enjoy the precision and attention to detail required for accurate color reproduction. One of the most transformative classes I have taken at Clemson was my Inks and Substrates course, which allowed me to dive deep into the science behind color and how it interacts with different materials. Looking ahead, I am eager to continue expanding my expertise in digital printing and color analysis. My goal is to work in a role that allows me to merge my passions for design and printing, whether that be in a commercial printing company, a branding agency, or an in-house corporate design team.

   As an Active Member in Alpha Phi Omega - Gamma Lambda, I provide assistance and aid through various community service projects in the Clemson and Pickens County area. Overall, I have 100+ service hours. In addition, I help with recruiting prospective members, aiding in social media content, and provide insight to further the growth of the Fraternity.
