Member of the Legal Team and Sudan, Myanmar and Iran Advocacy Task Forces at Genocide Watch.I lead a project on reforming the UN Charter to meet current global threats and participate in the drafting of UN resolutions and reports analysing matters such as cultural genocide, the persecution of certain vulnerable groups, and the Responsibility to Protect.I am also responsible for regularly monitoring the situation in the DRC, Burundi, Kenya, Mozambique, and Malawi, and publishing posts or drafting reports on them, with a particular consideration of whether the situation in these countries falls into any of the Ten Stages of Genocide.

ABOUT CATALINA HIERRO HERNÁNDEZ-MORA
I am a Spanish-qualified lawyer who is passionate about Public International Law and International Human Rights Law. Next fall I will begin my PhD in Law at the University of Cambridge, where my research will focus on enhancing state compliance with the duty to prevent genocide under the supervision of Drs. Rumiana Yotova and Sandesh Sivakumaran. Currently I am a Legal and Research Fellow at Genocide Watch, where I support their genocide prevention efforts, and a Research Assistant to Nani Jansen Reventlow, author and awards-winning human rights lawyer. I also hold a Master\'s Degree in Law with a Public International Law specialism from the London School of Economics and Political Science (grade: Distinction), where I focused on matters central to my interests, such as Genocide, Terrorism, War, and Human Rights Law. My dissertation, supervised by Dr. Devika Hovell and awarded a high Distinction (earning one of the top 5 marks in my cohort), focused on the duty to prevent genocide and forms the basis of my PhD research. I have previously worked for some of the best law firms in Spain and for non-governmental organizations both at a national and international level. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and fluent in French and Italian, and I am learning Arabic.
