ABOUT CATALINA VALENZUELA

Capacity as decision infrastructure. Gender and inclusion as architecture. Evidence before advice. Gender and inclusion are architecture, not content. They are decisions made at the blueprint stage, not modules added after the fact. Most capacity-building still treats them as the second, and that is why the dashboards keep improving while the outcomes do not. Innovus Consulting builds the alternative. We design capacity-building systems for funders, NGOs, and impact organizations across Latin America, with gender and inclusion engineered into the architecture from the first design decision. Not a workshop at the end. Not a KPI bolted onto a theory of change. A structural input that shapes how the work is scoped, sequenced, and sustained. Three things we do differently: 1. We assess before we design. Design thinking and systems design applied to capacity and governance gaps. 2, We treat gender and inclusion as architecture building blocks. They define who the system is built for and how it distributes value. 3 We build for adoption, not completion. Design sprints and iterative prototyping turn frameworks into tools people use. The evidence: 500+ practitioners upskilled in 12 countries. 90% toolkit adoption. Clients include CAF, Conservation International, GEF, The Nature Conservancy, Climate-KIC, WWF, Accion, Forus, NORCAP, Viventa and the ALIVE portfolio. The work spans gender-smart workforce toolkits, inclusive capacity strategies for public institutions, and gender mainstreaming across multi-country venture portfolios. About me: I am Catalina Valenzuela, founder and CEO of Innovus. I trained at King\'s College London (ABD), LSE, Oxford Brookes, and Universidad de los Andes, and completed the Goldman Sachs Small Businesses program at Babson in 2024. I work in English and Spanish, across Latin America and with global institutions. I build frameworks for a living.I am passionate about building a more equitable and sustainable world. My focus is on empowering change makers to leverage data-driven methodologies and design thinking to amplify their global impact. I believe in the power of action and there is a seat for everyone at the table. If you are designing capacity and suspect the design is the problem, send me a note.
