ABOUT CATALINA AMAYA

I’m Catalina Amaya, an environmental professional and people leader dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions and empowering teams to thrive. Originally from Colombia, I’ve spent the last 15 years building my life and career in Canada, a country I now proudly call home. My journey in the environmental field began with research on aquatic health and restoration work in Ontario, eventually leading me west to Alberta and into the dynamic world of environmental consulting. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to projects across restoration, mining, energy, and infrastructure, supporting clients as they navigate complex regulatory and permitting landscapes. I lead with a collaborative and transformational leadership philosophy, empowering others, fostering cohesion, and removing barriers so people can grow and deliver their best work. I take pride in building strong teams grounded in trust, purpose, and accountability, while ensuring high-quality outcomes for both clients and communities. My MBA in Global Energy Management & Sustainability has deepened my perspective on leadership, innovation, and the connection between environmental stewardship and business strategy. What inspires me most is contributing to the growth and well-being of others, creating spaces where people feel valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. I’m equally driven by the opportunity to advance sustainability goals, address meaningful challenges, and help shape a more resilient and responsible future.
