Technologies- Java, Scala, Python, C#, Samza, Kafka.NET, Elasticsearch, Redis, Aerospike, InfluxDB, Opensearch, Kubernetes, GitLab, ELK, Grafana, CerebroDescription:Back-end engineer responsible for a high-availability distributed search system deployed in a Kubernetes environment.Accomplishments: Converted the usage of Elasticsearch to Opensearch and integrated all our systems as well as external to use Opensearch which required API design changes, client code changes, and data model changes. Improved our data ingestion pipeline of web documents using Samza and Kafka allowing us to extract data more accurately and optimized our processing rate. Research and built a system to allow us to obtain millions of data from web archive files and load it into Opensearch at a reasonable rate though Kubernetes Job and Redis. Developed system metrics and monitoring using Grafana and InfluxDB. Configured Docker and CI/CD files to allow our applications to be deployed automatically in a Kubernetes cluster. Mentored junior engineers and collaborated with contractors, stakeholders, and other teammates throughout the development lifecycle.
