ABOUT CASSIE STEAD
My passion for the environment led me to seek out a career where I could do what I could to help responsibly manage our lands and resources. That being said, I am honored to say that I\'m currently working within the Department of National Defence to clean up historical contamination and minimize future environmental impact from military activities. Before getting here, I worked on Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada\'s Northern Contaminated Sites Program, the objective of which is to reduce environmental and human health risks from known contaminated sites in Northern Canada. Before all that, I obtained a bachelor\'s degree in environmental geology, an advanced diploma in water resources management, and a master\'s degree in hydrogeochemistry. If you\'d like to chat about what it\'s like to be in the environmental science realm, and the road to get here, don\'t hesitate to reach out!
