About Cassandra Miller
As an MBA and MPH candidate with a focus in Health Sector Management, I am exploring opportunities in hospital administration, operations and healthcare consulting to build upon my Biology undergraduate degree and 2 years of experience in hospital finance and operations management. Exploring business questions and using data to drive solutions for dynamic and complex problems is the part of my work I find most intellectually stimulating and energizing. Most meaningful, though, is applying these skills to create better experiences for patients, colleagues and clients within the healthcare setting. I have never felt drawn to clinical practice, but my contributions allow my clinical counterparts to better serve their patients and the community. This is fundamentally what always draws me back to healthcare. As a first-generation college student, pursuing both an undergraduate and graduate education has been an immense privilege and humbling experience. I bring a framework of understanding how privilege and access impact health into each of my academic and professional endeavors. This perspective was an essential part of my decision to pursue an MPH in addition to an MBA, as well as careers which address the intersections between public health and business.Looking ahead, I am aiming to return to hospital operations and administration. Working in hospitals throughout the COVID-19 pandemic left me with only a greater passion for the industry and deep respect for the bravery and sacrifice made by those in the healthcare space.
