I work with a designer who lays out the pages and coordinate with section contributors to ensure pages are sent to press by deadline- Co-Host of “MoTown Knows” —news panel. When hosting, I coordinate guests, speaking points and questions and relevant graphics for the live broadcast- Form working relationships with sources and keep contacts up-to-date - Prepare stories and interview community professionals, experts, residents and city/state officials- Create bylines each week around hard news and deeper dives- Research and stay current on news and legislature- Connect with the community- Curate a company newsletter twice a week- File B-section articles and news, including Saturday community content- Assist with checking and editing pages for press layout- Weekly COVID-19 data roundups for the Montrose community. Data collection involves regular contact with hospital, city, county and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Education for up-to-date information- Travel as needed for Wick Communications. I reported in Arizona for two weeks and have been covering both Delta County and Montrose County in Colorado.
