ABOUT CASSANDRA HANKS

As an Assistant Editor specializing in 2D animation, I contribute to a variety of comedy, science fiction, and fantasy adventure TV series and features. My role encompasses pre-production tasks such as assembling animatics, storyboards, and dialogue libraries, as well as preparing and exporting animatics for vendor animation studios. In post-production, I oversee the final picture process by integrating new animation takes, managing edits, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to networks and vendors. Additionally, I create and maintain credits for all episodes.Previously, I served as Lead Editor on several digital news shows, shaping viral digital content, podcasts, and series while staying grounded in accuracy and story integrity. I developed the network’s inaugural editorial workflow documentation, improving consistency and efficiency across the team. I also helped build the post-production pipeline, established naming conventions, and prepared assembly cuts for review. My work included asset management, rapid-turn graphic creation, audio effects, and ensuring adherence to broadcast quality standards and copyright clearances.I hold an MFA in Visualization from Texas A&M University, where I developed my animation and editing expertise through DreamWorks led courses and student projects. My BS in Telecommunication Media Studies, with a minor in Film Studies, provided additional training in storytelling, production, and hands on editing. In addition, I served as Director for the Texas Independent Film Festival, was an active member of SWAMP (Screenwriters, Actors, and Movie Producers), and gained professional experience as a part time editor and videographer at a production house.Passionate about storytelling through animation, I am focused on growing into animatic editing and ultimately a lead editorial role in animation. Open to all editorial opportunities in animated series and features.
