About Cassandra Conner

Full-Time social work student with over 12 years of experience in healthcare and human services. I\'d describe myself as vivacious, curious, a team player, empathetic, collaborative, teachable and compassionate. I strongly believe in self-determination and working to develop others\' potential in their unique journeys. With a social justice focus, I recognize systemic barriers largely impact lifespan trajectories. My strengths are communication, collaboration, empathy, optimism, relationship building, facilitation, and leadership. My leadership style is one that expects others to express their views, encourages change via human potential, expects people to develop their potential, and individually oriented through a democratic and unstructured approach. My primary interests in social work are social policy, advocacy, macro level practice and healthcare. I hope to address systemic change to improve the lives of communities and individuals. I believe in transparency and teaching others how to understand social welfare policy and utilize advocacy. As an advocate for mental health and human rights, social work aligns with my talents, passions and values.
