About Casey Helms
I am physician assistant working full-time in orthopedic surgery with a focus on knee and hip arthroplasty. Additionally, I currently hold positions in emergency medicine and orthopedics express care treating acute orthopedic and health concerns across the lifespan. Prior to orthopedics, I worked in emergency medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, as well as University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, a level I trauma center in Cleveland, Ohio. Outside of my clinical practice, I am an assistant clinical professor for the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine PA program. I am a motivated and empathetic individual who is a major advocate for the PA profession. I hope to get involved in PA leadership and policy in the future. I have special interests in emergency medicine, trauma, orthopedics, military medicine, and wilderness/austere medicine. I graduated with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In the PA Program at Case Western, I was the Vice President of the Class of 2020, a Hudson Society member, the Hudson Society Representative for the CWRU School of Medicine Committee of Student Representatives, and a member of the Primary Care Progress Chapter. Prior to PA school, I graduated from The University of Akron with a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology/Adult Fitness, earning a 4.0 GPA. I earned my undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. I was a student-athlete who received a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Kinetics, with a concentration in Exercise Science. I received a minor in Biology. I also was on the Pre-Med track. While at Ohio Wesleyan, I played on the Men\'s Lacrosse Team for four years. I was selected as an all-conference player two years of my career and was a leader and key contributor to the team.
