   Advance the public policy objectives of a national network of 52 governor-appointed state and US territory service commissions whose missions are to support and distribute state and federal funds for domestic community service programs such AmeriCorps, VISTA, Senior Corps, etc. • Work with state service commissions to develop individual state policy agendas, create advocacy tools and resources, and coordinate with key external partners to advance state public policy initiatives.• Create a national, bipartisan caucus of state legislators to support service programs in their states, an online national service advocacy academy to train advocates across the country how to engage their elected officials and their staffs at the local, state, and national levels, and a system to track service-related state legislation nationwide• Support ASC’s and policy coalition members’ efforts to advance annual federal policy agenda. This included assisting in strategic decisions, helping to train advocates, and participating in meetings with congressional offices
