About Casey McCarthy
Throughout my grammar school years, my parents took my siblings and I to a different museum in Chicago every month. Museum visits have become one of my favorite past times, but back then I tended to focus on the menus at the food court more than the actual exhibits themselves. However, when it came to the Museum of Science and Industry, my family could not get me to leave! Whether it was the hatching baby chicks exhibit where I first learned about the 4 building blocks of life or the giant 15 foot heart where I would sync up my heart beats and see how blood flowed, I always asked the questions \"how\" and \"why\" over and over. Fast forward 10 years later and I am still asking the interrogative questions when it comes to human health. After finishing my bachelor\'s degree in biomolecular chemistry, I pursued a master\'s degree in medical physiology to further my knowledge of the complex interplay between the systems of the human body. I love to learn about what is known, but I also am interested in what is unknown about human health. In the next few years, I plan to advance my knowledge even more in medical school. My greatest strength is my ability to connect with people and I am motivated by the interactions I have with others. As a doctor, I hope to combine these facets of myself to reach my full potential as a medical specialist.
