Greenlight America is a new, independent non-profit focused on leveraging grassroots energy to help more clean energy and transmission projects win local permitting and approval more quickly. The U.S. needs to build clean power projects and more than miles of transmission lines in the next decade to hit emissions reduction goals. The biggest bottleneck is not cost or technology, it\'s approvals at the local level: fossil fuel-funded groups and local NIMBY efforts are doing a great job turning out constituents to block clean energy projects, while supporters aren\'t showing up. We are building a scalable campaign hub for engaging and mobilizing local residents in support of clean energy and the huge economic benefits it can bring to the communities where it\'s built.
