Born and raised in Chicago\'s vibrant Rogers Park neighborhood, Casandra is a proud first-generation Latina whose journey is deeply rooted in the values of community, education, and leadership. As the eldest sibling in a family of five, Casandra has always embraced the responsibility of being a role model. She witnessed her parent\'s dedication to education instilled in her unwavering respect for learning and its transformative power. This personal ethos fueled her leadership during her undergraduate studies at Bradley University, where she actively championed the Latinx community. From serving as Internal Vice-President of the Association of Latino Professionals for America to holding key positions in the Association of Latin American Students, the Latinx Caucus, and the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, Casandra honed her collaboration, advocacy, and community engagement skills. Beyond her academic pursuits, Casandra actively volunteers with a non-profit organization, Serving People with a Mission, as the Chief Program Officer, mentoring underprivileged youth and designing engaging workshops. These experiences solidified her commitment to serving underrepresented communities and ignited a passion for bridging the equity gap in education. Today, Casandra translates this passion into action at the Greenwood Project. Leveraging her diverse skillset, she meticulously identifies and cultivates exceptional talent from various campuses, streamlining recruitment and building solid connections with educational institutions. Driven by a dedication to building a more inclusive future, Casandra extends her efforts beyond her professional role.
