About Carter Gibson
As a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering and a member of the QUEST Honors Program, I’m passionate about solving real-world problems through innovative design and data-driven engineering. My experiences span from designing sustainable cosmetic packaging and leading the development of an autonomous Over Terrain Vehicle to conducting global research on quality manufacturing practices in Japan and South Korea. These opportunities have sharpened my skills in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360), prototyping, and quantitative analysis, while allowing me to collaborate across disciplines to deliver practical, high-impact solutions.Outside the classroom, I’ve expanded my technical foundation through leadership in student consulting and engineering initiatives. As a Co-Chairman of the Snider Consulting Group, I’ve guided teams on client-focused strategy projects and built connections with industry leaders like Ernst & Young. Whether I’m managing a design sprint, developing data pipelines, or organizing networking events, I thrive at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and collaboration. I’m always looking for new challenges in design, product development, and other engineering roles where I can contribute to meaningful progress.
