About Carter W. Ford
I am a driven, analytical, and informed National Security Space Authority with more than 15 years of experience shaping space acquisition, architectures, capabilities, organization, policies, and strategic partnerships via high-impact counsel and products for senior congressional, Department of Defense, and Intelligence Community policymakers. My professional journey has been non-traditional and unplanned. It has been comprised of a series of serendipitous moments involving meeting the right people at the right time in the right place. Starting with being hired by the best boss ever who promoted me three times in four years, to being in the perfect role when Congress required answers to address the Nation’s posture in space when the threats were first being recognized, to being a plankowner of the U.S. Space Force, my career has been unique and highly rewarding. My current areas of interest are counterspace; offensive and defensive space operations; all-domain integrated effects; cislunar; positioning, navigation, and timing; and commercial space capabilities.
