Chief Technology Officer @Vinuity
As CTO of VINUITY, I am responsible for building and scaling a hydrogen technology business from early-stage development towards commercial deployment.I combine engineering leadership with business development, focusing on translating hydrogen technologies into viable products and real market applications. This includes developing our fuel cell module and stack portfolio, aligning product strategy with customer requirements, and ensuring scalability across European and Asian operations.A key part of my role is bridging technology and market: establishing partnerships, supporting customer integration projects, and driving initial revenue generation in Europe. I work closely with stakeholders across the hydrogen ecosystem to position VINUITY as a reliable and scalable solution provider. My focus is on execution, turning technical capabilities into delivered systems, building supply chains, and enabling the transition from development to industrial application.

ABOUT CARSTEN POHLMANN
I build and scale hydrogen and energy businesses at the intersection of technology, market and execution.Over the past 15+ years, I have worked across R&D, industrialization and business development, with a strong focus on bringing hydrogen technologies from concept into real-world applications.Currently, as CTO at VINUITY, I am responsible for building and commercializing hydrogen solutions across international markets. This includes developing business from early-stage opportunities to first revenues, establishing partnerships across Europe and Asia, and aligning technology development with market demand. My background combines deep technical expertise in materials science and hydrogen systems with hands-on experience in business building, project execution and ecosystem development. I have been actively involved in shaping the European hydrogen landscape through roles such as TC-Leader at Hydrogen Europe and advisory positions with Fraunhofer IFAM and HZwo.What differentiates my work is a system-level perspective: not only developing technologies, but integrating them into viable products, scalable business models and functioning value chains. My current work is centered around scaling hydrogen technologies into real-world applications, where execution, system integration and business viability become the key success factors.I am particularly driven by challenges at the intersection of technology, market and implementation, especially in environments where organizations move from early-stage innovation towards scalable, commercial solutions.Focus areas:Hydrogen and fuel cell systemsEnergy systems and infrastructureCommercialization and scaling of deep-techInternational market development (Europe & Asia)Building and leading cross-functional teams
