About Carson H.
As a PhD student in Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University, I was passionate about developing innovative solutions for high performance computing and optimization. My primary focus was Vortex, a virtual memory abstraction that promises to revolutionize these domains by approaching them from first principles. I presented the initial paper on Vortex at a top international conference, ASPLOS 2020, and I was working on further enhancing its performance and applications to parallel sorting before leaving the PhD with a Master\'s Degree.I also have experience in distributed systems engineering, having worked as a Distributed Systems Engineer at Sync Computing, an early-stage startup, during a sabbatical from my PhD research. There, I researched and developed a novel DAG-scheduling engine prototype using Python and Linux. Additionally, I have been involved in teaching and grading advanced courses on networks and distributed processing at Texas A&M, as well as conducting graduate research on a high performance MapReduce framework. I have a patent pending and a publication in these areas, demonstrating my skills and achievements. My goal is to advance the state of the art in computer science and engineering by contributing to the field with impactful and cutting-edge research.
