About Carrie Byrne

I\'m a hands-on design leader who navigates teams to vision, direction, and executional excellence in the face of any challenge.Nothing seems straight ahead in business anymore. Just when you think a strategy is set, socialized, and destined to deliver—things change. That much is constant. Rather than rail against it, I have learned to apply the best quantitative and qualitative insights available to experiment early and keep moving. Design for me is the act of creating steps in an evolutionary journey. Take whatever change, transition, inflection point, or strategic pivot you throw at me—I\'m ready to handle it. I\'m also easily bored. I’ve spent my career and much of my life seeking opportunities to stretch and take on new challenges. I like trying and learning new things. I’m always up for solving meaty problems. I appreciate new and different perspectives. I\'m a study in left- and right-brained integration. My career has included roles delivering, leading, and managing UX for enterprise software, marketing programs, and software apps. I took a detour at one point to get my master\'s degree at RISD in graphic design. I\'ve led Creative in agencies and for brands, and have delivered full lifecycle design across marketing channels and product platforms. I\'ve worked in Boston, Chicago, Anchorage, and Seattle—for large businesses and startups. Recently I realized that developing people is one of my super powers.I had a manager who encouraged me to dive head first into people development. I found my passion—if not my obsession—in the art and science of unlocking hidden strengths, talents, and performance in my team. When I\'m not chasing my next flow state in design, you can find me hiking, skiing, or running. I spent this past 4th of July climbing to the top of a mountain to watch the fireworks in our little town of Index. The payoff was well worth the effort. Most good challenges are. Have you tackled any good challenges lately? I\'d love to hear about them.
