For 25 years, Carrie has focused on solving construction disputes. As chair of the firm’s construction group, she deals daily with the business aspects of the construction industry, from drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts to litigation and arbitration of disputes that cannot be resolved. She vigorously asserts and defends construction claims on behalf of owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers, and homeowners associations, in public and private construction projects. She has specific, in-depth knowledge of mechanics’ lien and bond claims, and has litigated delay and defect claims, change order disputes, building collapse claims, construction defect claims and contract interpretation claims. Carrie often consults with clients on construction insurance issues, including the array of new coverage products such as OCIPs and CCIPs, and project-specific insurance issues. Carrie’s broad knowledge of construction helps her be a problem solver for her clients. She has represented hundreds of clients in effective dispute resolution. She is a trusted business consultant who works to develop best practices, and when necessary, to resolve issues through litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
