ABOUT CARRIE PURCELL
Carrie Purcell is a recognized executive leader in Emerging Technologies and Digital Transformation—serving as an advisor, speaker, researcher, educator and international bestselling author. Named one of Toronto’s Top 50 Female Leaders for 2023/24, she brings nearly two decades of innovation expertise to the intersection of immersive tech, AI, and ethical design in the future of education and the future of work. Carrie was an early adopter of metaverse technologies, which led her to co-found Adatpika, an award-winning VR gaming company in the Web 3 space focused on creating immersive virtual worlds, interactive experiences, and educational environments for corporate training and events. She also founded Insight Research & AI Labs, where she and her expert team actively consult, research, and develop solutions in emerging technologies. Currently a doctoral researcher specializing in AI Adoption and Responsible AI, Carrie has developed proprietary frameworks to audit ethical AI development and created an AI Adoption Blueprint to support enterprise-scale deployment. Her thought leadership has earned her the Outstanding Leadership Award and a Top Visionary nomination from Education 2.0. Carrie holds a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto and an Executive MBA with specializations in Blockchain and Entrepreneurship. She is also a contributing author to The AI Revolution: Thriving Within Civilization’s Next Big Disruption. Passionate about education, she also teaches in the School of Design at George Brown College in Toronto, shaping the next generation of digital innovators.
