About Carrie Labarr

Growing up with 4 brothers and 2 outgoing parents with a zest for life really made me the fiery person I am today. Since I was young, I\'ve always been driven to succeed and hungry for a challenge. In my adult life, I\'ve become a go-getter who\'s out to take the world by storm. My first major challenge happened when I skipped my senior year of high school to attend a college program at the Clarkson School, where I\'m now the Interim Director of Admissions. It was a great experience that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and made me realize no challenge is too large to tackle. After that, in my Master\'s program, I was challenged with learning how to teach students and connect with them. I learned to dig in and have meaningful conversations with positive outcomes. I honed my ability to communicate with different audiences. One key takeaway was how to truly reach students by showing true interest in their goals while listening to the things they care about most. In Admissions at Clarkson, I was able to take an owner mindset over my territories and develop my own recruitment strategies. I\'ve grown territories from scratch to become some of the most successful territories on campus. In my time as a recruiter, I developed key relationships to help me reach an unprecedented level of success. I learned how to hustle, and how to build relationships. I then entered a leadership role as Interim Director of Admissions. However, I\'ve always been a leader in a variety of ways - whether that\'s creating training manuals, supervising remote team members, or becoming part of strategic initiatives across the university. I\'ve always been the type of person to stand up and fight for the little guy when needed, which has translated to my professional life making me a champion for diversity. I decided it was time for something new- corporate recruiting! As a Site Recruiter at Michelin, I am responsible for sourcing and hiring local talent for Michelin North America- Plattsburgh. With over 15 years of experience in education and recruiting, I have developed a keen eye for finding and attracting qualified candidates who share Michelin\'s values and vision. I am excited to continue to make an impact on the lives of the people I recruit and work with. I\'m inspired by yielding positive results for the organization and for the people around me. I love to travel, gain new experiences, meet new people, and figure out what makes people and places unique. I thrive in teams who lift each other up, and cheer each other on to create a true culture of motivation and positivity.
