ABOUT CARRIE KIEDROWSKI
I have over 21 years of brand protection and enforcement experience and have particular success in resolving online trademark infringement issues and in domain name dispute arbitration actions before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). I effectively counsel global and national clients on the enforcement of trademark rights on the Internet and on the proper use of brands in social media advertising. I focus on defending brands from online threats and provide day-to-day advice on worldwide brand development and protection programs, domestic and international trademark clearance and prosecution, trademark due diligence, trademark licensing, domain name protection, and online copyright matters. I also have significant experience managing international trademark and domain name portfolios and work closely with foreign counsel in over 130 countries throughout the world. I also support numerous private equity and family owned companies in the protection of their investment brands. Recent industry experience includes free knowledge and open source products and services, telehealth and wellness goods and services, hair care and skin care, weight loss products and services, insurance and financial services, mobile applications, software, consumer products, educational assessment products and services, film and packaging products, food and beverage products, and real estate development services. I represent clients in trademark opposition and cancellation actions before the USPTO and assist in U.S. federal district court trademark litigation cases. I am lead pro bono trademark counsel for several global non-profit organizations, such as Room to Read, in which underserved individuals receive literacy and educational support. Prior to joining Jones Day, I was a counselor for people with disabilities for approximately 10 years with the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission.
