ABOUT CARRIE JACKSON

A public health professional with seven years of experience in grassroots community work, and a strong advocate for improving public systems to better address social determinants of health. Working on the COVID-19 response team sharpened my communication and organizational skills, as well as heightened my problem-solving abilities and sense of urgency in prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Over the past seven years I’ve also gained valuable experience as a volunteer community organizer and activist. I’ve rallied and campaigned for causes and candidates for elected office that I feel will work to improve the quality of life for everyone, especially for society’s most vulnerable people. I’ve done this work through collaborating with other volunteers, community-based organizations, government agencies, and elected officials. It has been a journey led by a passion for helping people live healthier, happier lives and in a fair, equitable and just manner.
