About Carrie Cochran
National investigative producer for Scripps News, reporting, researching and leading the production of short and longform investigative stories. Before joining Scripps in 2018, I was a reporter and filmmaker for 13 years at The Cincinnati Enquirer. I’ve been exploring inequities throughout the U.S. in reporting on policing, the opioid epidemic, sexual assault, immigration, gun violence and public health in multiple formats - documentaries, podcast series, the written word and television packages. I’m grateful that my work has been recognized — National Emmy Award in 2024, the Pulitzer Prize and National Murrow Award in 2018, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Grand Prize in 2020, an IRE award and Peabody Award finalist in 2022, and a National Headliner Award and National Association of Black Journalists award recipient in 2023.
