ABOUT CARRIE BYLES
As an architect with more than 40 years of experience in design, technology, and management, I have placed a special focus on projects that require the complex integration of programmatic and technological requirements. These include large-scale residential, aviation, mixed-use, and academic buildings throughout the United States and abroad. With a background in both architecture and digital design, I am committed to understanding how technology can transform the way we live and work—and I strive to translate this influence into every facet of SOM’s interdisciplinary practice. I believe that sustainable, multidisciplinary, research-based design allows us to create high-performance buildings and communities. Through strong partnerships with contractors and consultants, I aim to bring all parties together early in the design process to generate new ideas and create a solid foundation for success. Doing so allows for accelerated design and construction schedules, while also maintaining project quality and long-term real estate value for my clients.
