ABOUT CARREE NAHAMA

Before I could even see over the counter at my dad\'s Mail Boxes Etc. shop, I was honing my people skills. I didn\'t know I wanted to be a lawyer then, but I developed some of my personality traits during those formative years that serve me very well today — I can start a conversation with anyone! By 6th grade, I knew I wanted to become an attorney — a corporate attorney (not really knowing what that even meant). I wanted to wear black suits, dark pantyhose (eek!) and shiny heels. Being a lawyer was not my parent\'s idea. They wanted me to take over ownership of the Mail Boxes Etc. store, but I had other ideas. I am the first attorney in my family on both sides. Because of this, I felt I had to find someone, a mentor, to guide me. Turns out, it’s not easy to find a mentor, and I would not find a mentor and friend until law school. Getting into law school — and closer to my suit-wearing version of myself — was one of my proudest accomplishments. I did not begin to stand out from my classmates in law school until I started doing legal internships. I am a \"doer\" by nature, so I needed to be in the office, courtroom, and legal community to realize my potential. I needed to be in environments where I could connect with people. And, I found that for me, being supported by legal professionals and learning from the lawyers I was working alongside was how I found the confidence I needed to eventually practice law, start my own law firm in my mid-thirties, and develop into a leader and mentor in my legal community. My superpowers are my confidence, being a \"doer,\" and having good people and conversational skills! I have been managing and operating Nahama Law for close to a decade. I regularly wear my black suit and shiny heels and look forward to continuing to connect with the Californian legal community! If you don\'t see me at a legal mixer, you can find me walking Archie, my French Bulldog, watching my oldest daughter play soccer, or exercising. If anything in my bio speaks to you, please feel free to reach out and connect with me!
