About Carolyn Hill

33 Years of experience in the IT industry. Worked as a Systems Engineer in the Manufacturing Industry supporting plant floor applications & then later in the Health Care Industry supporting insurance form processing. Later moved to managing projects in both of these industries & the Travel Industry. Moved into the Program Office & managed the achievement of CMM Level 2 & 3 for an organization. Worked as a PM for a year in the sustain area in a multi-vendor environment supporting a manufacturing client. Began supporting other PMs working as Project Management Subject Matter Expert & supported the Manufacturing Industry by providing Project Management Expertise to numerous PMs. This included coaching/mentoring, and teaching classes for the PMs in this group. As a member of the Program Office I also worked on developing processes to support both the client and the organization as well as ensuring the processes supported CMMI Level 3. Worked as Project Manager running projects for a client in the manafacturing industry. These projects include development, hardware replacement and implementation of COTS software. Have participated in several CMM and CMMI assessments as an assessment team member. Worked as a Program Manager on a global account. Oversaw several projects, monitoring budgets and milestones, staffing projects, managing client expectations and issues. Provided status reporting to management. Worked on estimating new projects and staffing these as they sold. Worked through resolving escalated issues as well as coach and mentor PMs in their role at our account. Worked on the ITO side of the house for a couple of years to gain experience with the hardware side of the business. Currently working on an account, managing a global team supporting both Production Support and New Development. Perform project planning and tracking, manage project finances, track project metrics, manage team assignments. I work with both the account management and the client to prioritize work, work through issues, and plan new work.
