ABOUT CAROLYN SCHULZE FISCHER

Yep! I have lots of energy and am unapologetic for it! I have passion for nonprofits - I find an organization with a mission where I\'m meant to be! I tell everyone that I began my “career” in development at the age of 5 when I sold Girl Scout cookies door-to-door in my neighborhood. It’s a passion of mine to be a voice for those who are not heard and to bring awareness/opportunities to those who would otherwise not have what their peers do – true equity. I began in the nonprofit sector in 2003 at the Broward County YMCA. I toggled between education and the YMCA for my time in South Florida. However, development is where I thrive the most - my passion can be strong at times! I have experience in sales, management/supervising teams, prospecting, campaign management, board relations & development and event planning. I have been able to motivate my team to achieve and often exceed goals. I have a natural talent for organizing, connecting with people, and being self-directed. I am always willing to support where it is needed and am goal-focused, which helps partnering areas/departments succeed.I love exploring in my own backyard, traveling, being with my family, supporting my kids in their passions and entertaining. I like reading, but wish I had more time for it. I really like working out, but make excuses. I coach high school volleyball, serve as “staff” for the Kansas City Irish Fest (although I’m not Irish) and typically say “yes” when someone asks me to be involved with their cause.
