ABOUT CAROLYN L.

My strength is in my difference. I disrupt and I go against the grain always making decisions and delivering solutions that advance the company. I don’t work to make my metrics look good. I work to deliver results that put the company ahead. This has led to consistently hitting cost-reduction goals and increasing the company’s leverage with the supplier base. c••••••••@gmail.comCHALLENGE and CHANGEDoing things the way they’ve always been done leads to excessive costs, inefficiencies and lost leverage. I’ve earned a reputation for challenging leadership to look at things differently and apply innovative solutions that reduce costs, open new supplier markets and streamline production lines. Once I’ve gained their buy-in, I implement the change and have successfully done so in a short time frame.I am proud of having developed the infrastructure for a new department, Global Packaging, as the Director of Purchasing. From assembling the team to establishing processes and systems that alleviated longstanding packaging issues enterprise wide and mitigated future challenges, my team and I created a stable organization that has delivered excellence consistently.TEAM DEVELOPMENT & RETENTIONOutside of thinking differently, I excel at connecting with the hearts and minds of my team members and stakeholders across the organization. Getting input and feedback from all the players no matter what level inspires people to take a greater interest in sourcing operations and improves engagement overall. More than once, I’ve been tapped to fill leadership roles that required restoring team morale and staving attrition. Purchasing is a tough business. Team members wear out quickly. By creating accountable cultures and investing in my teams with mentoring and coaching, I’ve managed to reverse severe attrition and improve morale. Leading people energizes me.FILLING A GAP. DELIVERING SUCCESS.After a successful career in account management, I transitioned into a new role in supply chain. The company needed someone to open up and launch a new facility. I made that happen without really knowing how to do it. When I took over global packaging, I didn’t really know much about packaging. I’m now considered an SME across the company. It never occurs to me that I don’t know how to do something. I will do the research, talk to and shadow experts and achieve the goal set before me. I embrace the opportunity to support the company where there is a need.Reach out to talk about sourcing strategies, innovative and disruptive solutions and building high-performing teams.
