About Carolyn Brown

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and minor in GIS. Currently, at ERS, I lead wildlife surveys, including those for raptors, migratory birds, owls, bats, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. I also perform wetland delineations and vegetation and noxious weed surveys. In my current position, I am responsible for writing numerous reports including but not limited to Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Environmental Reviews (ER), Wetland Delineation and Determination Reports, and Wildlife Survey Reports. My previous roles with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), have provided valuable experiences in wildlife biology. At CPW I monitored lakes and rivers for aquatic nuisance species such as zebra and quagga mussels and performed water sampling for eDNA and cyanobacteria testing. At the USFS, my work focused on fisheries and hydrology projects, including fish population estimates, stream habitat assessments, and road/dispersed campsite surveys. Additionally, these positions cumulatively exposed me to fieldwork that has included early morning and evening surveys, hiking long distances, camping for an extended period, driving 4WD vehicles, hauling trailers, and operating watercraft. I believe that I possess a diverse skill set and am a strong candidate for opportunities in wildlife biology, wetland ecology, and similar positions.
