ABOUT CAROL CLARK
I’m a Chief Operating Officer who helps founders execute and scale with clarity so they don\'t lose the heart of what they’re building.I’ve spent 23 years in tech (17 in games), including 7.5+ years at COO level. I\'ve overseen projects that have shipped on every major platform from PS2 through to current-gen and VR. These days I work at the intersection of operations, org design and leadership development - building the systems and ways of working that make high performance sustainable and repeatable but always with humans at the centre.I’ve held senior roles at Pocket Sized Hands (COO), Tag Games (Head of Production → COO), Microsoft Studios / Rare (Program Manager), Outplay Entertainment and Realtime Worlds. I’ve worked with teams ranging from ~25 to ~200 people, including the Xbox One launch team.Highlights include a Microsoft patent award (Kinect Sports Rivals) and a BAFTA-winning title (Kinect Sports Season 2).How I work: • Operating models and delivery discipline (the stuff that makes execution easier, not harder) • Org design + role clarity • Leadership development, feedback culture and performance systems • Metrics and transparency that strengthen accountability and trust • Building psychologically safe environments where people can do their best workI also contribute to the Scottish games ecosystem and higher education through guest lecturing, mentoring, workshops and speaking - much of which happens via the Business School and Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Dundee where I hold an honorary role as Professor in Practice.Ultimately I believe - and the last decade of my work proves - that growth, ambition and delivery do not require leadership to sacrifice people and culture in order to be successful. This is my mission.
